The Dampier Seafarers Centre is a not for profit welfare charity serving merchant crews in the Port of Dampier.
We are also known as:
The Mission to Seafarers Dampier
The Seaman’s Club Dampier
The Flying Angel Dampier
Our heritage is one of Christian charity and we hold true to the foundation Jesus set of loving people who are often overlooked by others.
For the glory of God, the Dampier Seafarers Centre intends to provide a physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe place for Seafarers, regardless of rank, nationality or beliefs.
We provide a free bus service for seafarers at 5 terminals and 13 berths to and from our Centre.
Through ship visits and our drop-in Centre we provide welfare and emergency assistance, practical support and need items, communication services and a friendly welcome to all ship crews.
Our Centre provides free a WIFI connection to the internet for seafarers.
There is a recreation room where people can play pool, ping pong, foosball, air-hockey and darts. It is a comfortable place to allow seafarers to sit and relax. Tea, espresso coffee and purified water are free of charge. We have full refreshment facilities. There is also a library of books that are available for free along with donated magazines and some up to date reading material in many languages.
There is a shop that sells pre-paid SIM cards and recharges. We also sell chips, biscuits, chocolates, soft drinks and some basic and special grocery items. We sell personal hygiene items, skin care products and vitamins. We sell some basic electronic goods. We also have a stock of excellent Australian souvenirs and clothing. All proceeds go towards the operating costs of the Dampier Seafarers Centre and the welfare of many who visit our port.
Our Centre is staffed by workers and volunteers from the Dampier area.
