Capelania Porto do Açu

The Mission to Seafarers is starting  a new ministry in Açu Port  under the Revda’s Dilce Paiva de Oliveira responsibility.In these firsts months of work we faced many challenges in implementing the Mission to Seafarers in Porto do Açu. We count on the support of some people who understand the importance of Mission for the well-being of seafarers and the need for humanization in all work environments. We see the joy on the faces of many seafarers who know this work from so many other ports around the world. God’s Grace and love have been our company at all times.
During these months we had the opportunity to visit many ships. It has been a very rich learning experience. Seafarers have received us with great joy, especially those who already know the work of the Mission to Seafarers from other ports. The Mission to Seafarers aims at Porto do Açu to facilitate moments of conviviality and to offer an emotional and spiritual support service and free transportation for those who wish to have time off the ship. It has been moments of exchanging experiences and a lot of joy.
