Our chaplain in Rotterdam, Revd. Dennis Woodward, was interviewed by Dutch current affairs programme ‘Onderstromen’. The programme showcases the work we do in port, how computers and robots are replacing people and how MtS is still meeting the needs of seafarers.
Dennis features as Chaplain from 09:45 – 11:02 and again from 29:05 – 33:05. Logically, most bits in the programme are in Dutch. Dennis explains to the presenter how the pressure that’s put on seafarers is ultimately the responsibility of us as consumers. The whole programme looks at how the Port of Rotterdam has become “less human” (e.g. how driverless vehicles and remotely operated cranes have taken over jobs).
