LONDON, 19th May 2017 – Nor-Shipping Charity Fun Run co-sponsor DNV GL and event participant ABB, who are sending a team of 17 runners, today called for more businesses to register teams for this year’s 5k charity fun run. Taking place on Monday 29th May, the event aims to raise £100,000 for Nor-Shipping’s 2017 partner charity, the Mission to Seafarers, the world’s leading maritime welfare charity.
Jon Rysst, Regional Manager North Europe at DNV GL, the event’s co-sponsor alongside IHS Fairplay commented:
“DNV GL are always keen to support efforts that increase seafarer welfare. As well as being an enjoyable team-building activity for businesses attending Nor-Shipping, it’s important that we remember that the proceeds from the Fun Run will make a real difference to seafarers facing hardship and distress through the work of the Mission to Seafarers. We encourage all exhibitors and attendees to follow our lead and join in the fun.”
Tammie Barnes, Global Sales Admin and SFDC at ABB will be participating in the Fun Run alongside 16 of her colleagues from around the world. She commented:
The non-competitive 5k run will begin at 5pm on Monday 29th May, taking a scenic route around Oslo city centre, including Akershus Castle, and finishing at Tjuvhomen. The entry fee of NOK 500 per participant will go directly to supporting the Mission to Seafarers vital welfare work at over 200 ports around the world. There will be prizes for the fastest 10 runners and participant badges for all who take part. To register for the event, click the link here or go to http://bit.ly/NorRun17; all participants must register by 25th May.
