Joseph Prendergast was a merchant seaman from the late 1940s through to the 1960s.
Originally from Belfast, he mostly sailed out of Manchester/Salford on the Manchester Liners.
Joe worked as a stoker in the engine rooms.
Throughout our childhoods, he told us fascinating stories about his time at sea.
He was so proud to have served in the merchant navy and it remained very dear to him until his passing earlier this year.
Please remember him in your prayers.
