Andy was first and foremost a family man and a good and faithful husband. He had just launched his boat and was looking forward to his first sail of the season when he died, suddenly and unexpectedly. Andy has been largely responsible for the renovation of the ancient and historic church of St Nicholas on Thorney Island, which was completed in 2018. For several years he has also been treasurer and overseer of the church and its small faithful congregation, supporting and working with a succession of Army Padres and also the Vicar of the Parish of Southbourne with West Thorney. Last summer he organised and led, with the help of the enthusiastic congregation, a ‘Sea Sunday’ service in aid of ‘The Mission to Seafarers.’ Andy is greatly missed by many family and friends. |
