The Graig 100 is back on the 4th of September 2021. Join many familiar faces from the industry for a ride in aid of Mission to Seafarers and Velindre Cancer Centre. These last 12 months have been unprecedented for us all but particularly those at sea and suffering from illness. 1.5 million seafarers risk their lives every day to support our shipping industry and global health services under intense stress has led to immense pressure on those undergoing life-saving treatments.
Graig has decided to run its successful Graig100 Bike Ride as a maritime industry event, in support of MtS and a local cancer charity, Velindre Cancer Centre. To help support the physical & mental health of Seafarers and their families as they endure danger & isolation each day. To provide much-needed funds to aid those who are fighting illness.
125 riders will saddle up and depart from Cardiff into the Graigwen mountain and into the Welsh hills complemented by stunning scenery before returning to Sophia Gardens to celebrate at the Brewhouse Bar and Kitchen. This year Graig has aimed to accommodate all skill levels and has developed three cycle routes of different degrees of challenge – something for every age and ability! Currently, they only have 25 rider spaces left!
This is a fun ride (not sportive or race) and is being organised by seasoned cyclists with a commemorative cycle shirt to mark the occasion alongside feed stations, marshals, first aiders, photographers, broom wagons, meal and beers at the end etc all included.
Graig are also appealing to the industry to achieve more in support of their charity partners, with multiple sponsorship packages and 100% of proceeds going to Mission to Seafarers and Velindre.
In 2019 the inaugural Graig100 ride raised in total £37,000 which is a target they would like to meet/exceed with your help.
FRIDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER | 6PM
Pre-Ride Gala Dinner held at Cardiff’s iconic The Angel Hotel adjacent to the Millennium Stadium and the home of Welsh rugby. A 3 course meal with after dinner speakers including a surprise speaker from the world of Welsh rugby.
SATURDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER | 8AM
Riders meet at Brewhouse Cardiff for a staggered start with the ride concluding between 4/5PM. The event will close with post ride drinks & food at the Brewhouse Cardiff from 6pm till late.
