Coffee mornings are easy to organise and provide the perfect opportunity for friends, colleagues and parishioners to get together and help seafarers.
All you need is a venue, some tea and coffee, and of course, some delicious cake…
There are many ways that you can raise money at a Coffee Morning that supports The Mission to Seafarers. You could:
Whichever way you choose to raise money for the Mission, it is always a good idea to let people know more information about our charity before asking them for a donation.
Approximately 90% of the world’s trade is carried by sea, with this work being undertaken by over 1.89 million seafarers globally. This really highlights the contribution that seafarers make to our global economy and support our general way of life.
These seafarers face dangerous situations and battle violent weather conditions as they carry out their work, which ensures that we can carry out our everyday lives. Combined with the time spent so far away from loved ones, this can often impact on mental and physical health which The Mission to Seafarers aims to address.
Across 200 ports globally, we aim to provide seafarers with the support that they need to combat these issues. The money that you raise by holding a coffee morning will help us continue this important work that we do in order to support these often undervalued key workers.
There are countless ways that you can make this a natural talking point during your coffee mornings. One popular way is for the artistic bakers amongst you to create a nautically themed seafarers cake!
Alternatively, you may wish to display information, posters and leaflets providing those in attendance with more information as to the work that the Mission carries out.
