Head of Corporate Development

The Mission to Seafarers seeks a Head of Corporate Development to further build upon and implement a sustainable corporate fundraising strategy, establishing high-value, long-term relationships with corporate entities across the shipping industry.

Working closely with the Director of Development, you’ll drive new corporate fundraising partnerships both nationally and globally, managing key corporate accounts with a focus on maximising income. You’ll develop and write high-quality funding proposals and presentations, service our Global Ambassador network of CEOs and Senior Directors across the shipping industry, and work collaboratively with the Events team to maximise potential from sponsors and participants, including taking responsibility for sponsorship and team acquisition for the Maritime Mountain Race 2028. You’ll also line manage the Corporate Partnerships’ Manager and the Fundraising Manager, Canada, and deputise for the Director of Development as required.

This role requires a proven track record in strategic corporate fundraising, with strong experience managing corporate functions, people, and complex budgets. You’ll be a creative thinker skilled at matching corporate needs with opportunities, with excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills. Strong experience with supporter databases, ideally Raiser’s Edge, is important, along with a comfortable, confident approach to working with data. Experience of working for an international charity would be beneficial. Applicants must have the right to live and work permanently in the UK.
