Partner with The Mission to Seafarers to bring welfare, dignity, and care to seafarers worldwide

Stand with us to drive transformational change

The Mission to Seafarers supports 1.89 million seafarers worldwide – the people who keep global trade moving, but who often work in isolation for months at a time, separated from their families and loved ones.

We are there for them every day of the year. From the provision of sim cards and Wi-Fi, to crisis intervention onboard vessels, our work spans the full spectrum of human need: practical, emotional, and spiritual – ensuring that no crew member faces hardship alone.

Trusts and foundations are essential to this mission. Your support enables us to fund the services seafarers rely on, reach the ports that need us most, and invest in the next generation of welfare provision. Without the generosity of grant-makers, much of this work would not be possible.

Together, we can ensure that crew are seen, valued, and cared for.

Why partner with us?

The Mission to Seafarers has been serving the world’s seafarers for over 160 years. We are a trusted, expert voice in maritime welfare – and a partner you can rely on to deliver real, measurable impact at scale.

Global reach, local presence

With teams operating across 200+ ports in 50 countries, we are positioned where seafarers need us most. Our on-the-ground staff and volunteers build genuine relationships with crew, enabling us to identify and respond effectively to local challenges.

Innovation and evidence

We are committed to developing programmes that are both evidence-based and forward-thinking - from mental health and suicide prevention training for maritime cadets, to pioneering welfare resources for women and marginalised seafarers. Your investment helps us test, learn, and scale what works.

Transparency and stewardship

We take our responsibilities to funders seriously. Grant holders receive regular impact updates, clear reporting against agreed outcomes, and direct access to the team leading the work. We welcome site visits and will always keep you close to the difference your funding makes.

A cause that matters

Seafarers are the backbone of global trade - yet they remain largely invisible to the public. Partnering with The Mission to Seafarers means shining a light on a forgotten workforce and standing with some of the most isolated people in the world.

Funded Projects

The Mission to Seafarers is grateful to the numerous trusts and foundations who have funded our projects and programmes around the world.

“The Seafarers’ Charity enjoy our funding partnerships with The Mission to Seafarers because each application is innovative and pushing the boundaries of demonstrated need for the safety and welfare of seafarers, wherever they are in the world.”

- Louise Parkin – Head of Grants, The Seafarers Charity

"The Mission to Seafarers has a long and proud history of breaking new ground in maritime welfare, while remaining faithful to its core purposes and values. The great success in fundraising over the past two years is evidence of the strong bond which exists between you and the industry, and I want to pay tribute to all involved in these efforts."

- HRH The Princess Royal, President of The Mission to Seafarers
