Events Fundraiser

Title: Events Fundraiser

Location: London based near Cannon Street Station with occasional travel in UK

Salary: £28K - £30K plus benefits

Closing date for applications (CV + supporting statement): 12 noon Monday, 11th March 2019

The Mission to Seafarers is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Events Fundraiser to join its small but effective Development team.  Working under the guidance of the new Head of Corporate Fundraising, you will find this is an exciting time to be joining this highly respected international charity as it seeks to increase its individual and corporate income by establishing a new Events programme.

This important role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to shape future events covering three core streams: a Royal event; major donor and partner events; and corporate fundraising and networking events.

The Events Fundraiser will coordinate the organisation and logistics of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols which is usually attended by the President of The Mission to Seafarers – HRH Princess Royal.

You will also plan and deliver a series of special events for major donors in exclusive and intimate locations.  Events will include dinners, joint networking events and drinks receptions.  You will also plan and deliver professional dinners and challenge events which are aimed at maximising fundraising income in a cost-effective way.

Initially, events will be located within the UK.  However, future events may be overseas, so the role provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience in national and possibly international arenas.

We are looking for someone who has a proven track record as a confident sales person and project coordinator, who is both a creative thinker and a practical, solution-focused professional.  You will be someone who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, who is able to encourage and enlist the support of corporate partners who will be impressed by your passion for helping vulnerable people as well as your professionalism.  We need someone who is well-organised, has meticulous attention to detail and is excited about future personal development.

The Mission to Seafarers is an international Christian maritime charity.  It has become one of the largest port-based welfare operators in the world working in 200 ports and 50 countries. Our frontline staff visit ships, offer hospitality, drive minibuses and engage a range of other welfare activity.  Seafarers spend up to nine months away from home and the Mission offers a friendly face and a helping hand to those in port.  We help seafarers who are stranded or abandoned, assist with justice cases and support their families.

The Events Fundraiser role is based in London, near Cannon Street Station and offers flexible working, a generous pension, and 25 days’ holiday a year.

We look forward to receiving your applications for this exciting role.
