LAMBETH PALACE RECEPTIONOn 27th September the Archbishop of Canterbury opened the doors of Lambeth Palace to The Mission to Seafarers during World Maritime Day week.
One of the most recognisable sights on the bank of the River Thames, the Palace has been the home of the Archbishop of Canterbury since 1200AD.
HRH the Princess Royal, The President of The Mission, was able to update the audience on the Mission’s important work with victims of piracy during 2011, the International Maritime Organisation’s year of ‘orchestrating the response’ to piracy.
The event was sponsored by the Liberian Shipping Registry and was attended by members of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Maersk, Tindal Riley, Rio Tinto, the Chamber of Shipping and many of our supporters.
