At least five people are now reported dead and many other people - including Filipino crew members - were injured when the ship was in collision with rocks off the Tuscan coast.
The ship is said to have been carrying 1000 crew and 3,200 passengers.
The purser, an Italian national, was located by rescuers on Sunday morning, trapped in a restaurant.
However, media reports raise concerns that there may be more fatalities from the crew ranks, whose cabin and work areas may have made their evacuation difficult.
A consular team led by the vice-consul from the British embassy in Rome went to Porto Santo Stefano to support British survivors and their worried families.
It remains uncertain how many crew and passengers remain unaccounted for - the BBC is reporting that the figure of those missing stands at fifteen. Rescuers still searching the ship report that noises inside suggest there are more survivors within the capsized hull.
